Loaning a car as In-Kind Donation?

I am considerting loaning my extra car to a local non-profit for an out of town visitor for @ 3 weeks.

How much can I claim as a tax credit for this? Is it by mile, daily rate, etc?

Thanks!

$0.

You cannot get a deduction for a donation of a partial interest.

$0

The is no tax deduction for the donation of the use of an item.

To get a deduction, you would have to give them the car with no strings attached.

You can only deduct a gift if you transfer title. You cannot deduct the fair market value of a house or car if you retain ownership.

I don't think that is the same as giving it to them

You don't get any charity deduction unless you have expenses. Also charity deduction is itemized deduction. You will take deduction only if your itemized deductions are more than your standard deduction.. Read: http://taxipay.blogspot.com/2008/05/itemized-deductions.html
