What are some good fund raising ideas for a small non profit org. that helps recovering sustance abusers?

I am helping to generate ideas for a small non profit oirgnization in Ohio that helps recovering addicts. They also provide shelter for up o one year for individuals to rehabilitate their lives after drug related jail time or mandatory rehabilitation. Currently it is funded (and founded) by a church and survives off of church and private donations. There have been car washes, cook outs and other types of sales to generate funds. Just looking for some new ideas to present- HELP!

Individuals are the largest source of fund raising for non profit organizations. Please work out your requirement of funds and depending on this you can decide the area of donors to be drafted. Please give ample coverage to the works being carried out by your organization and ensure that this message reaches all the prospective donors. Please involve all the donors in way or other in your works. A sense of involvement of the donors is the key to your success of fund raising !

Find art students at local high schools and colleges. Offer to sell their artwork for a 50-50 split. The charity gets half. You could have a party with an auction or you could do it online. The students would be thrilled to get rewarded for their work and you would not have to pay in advance for any inventory for your sale..

if you type in nonprofit fundraising in your search engine you will find over two thousand ideas. This enables you to find ones that would interest the people in your locality. What raises money in NYC may not appeal to people in Ohio or Montana.
